Clinic of Cardiac Surgery of the University of Munich

In 1958, with the assistance of a heart-lung machine, the first heart operation was performed at the University of Munich. Since then there have been many innovations in cardiac surgery, both nationally and internationally.

Currently, we employ a team of more than 30 highly specialised physicians. They perform more than 3,000 surgical procedures a year at our clinics, using state-of-the-art medical technology.

Despite all the advances that have been made, our focus is on our patients. We provide support to our patients as partners - in consultation and treatment. Surgical excellence is paired with respect and nobleness of the heart.
