Outpatient follow-up

The four major aims of long-term outpatient follow-up of children with heart and heart-lung transplants are

  • Identification of rejection reactions
  • Monitoring of immunosuppression
  • Identification and treatment of drug side effects
  • Monitoring the patient’s mental and physical development and providing psychological support for patients and their families

For this reason, each patient is given a detailed follow-up plan that is tailored individually to each patient beyond the basic follow-up.
