Outpatient follow-up
The four major aims of long-term outpatient follow-up of children with heart and heart-lung transplants are
- Identification of rejection reactions
- Monitoring of immunosuppression
- Identification and treatment of drug side effects
- Monitoring the patient’s mental and physical development and providing psychological support for patients and their families
For this reason, each patient is given a detailed follow-up plan that is tailored individually to each patient beyond the basic follow-up.
